The Thirteenth Division (十三番隊, jūsanbantai) follows the traditional organization of a Gotei 13 Division. Their division colour is carnelian, and their insignia is a snow drop which signifies hope. According to the Shinigami Women's Association aptitude test, this division is popular with those who want a quiet and peaceful life and favoured by those who are big-hearted.

Like all the other barracks, the 13th Division Barracks house the offices and living quarters of the Shinigami of the 13th. The Barrack grounds contain the Ugendō (雨乾堂, Rain Dried Hall) Quarters, which is set aside for use by Aikou Ukitake, the captain of the 13th Division. He is known to rest there to recover from his frequent bouts of illnesses. The pond around the Ugendō Quarters is filled with Koi stolen from the Kuchiki Family Manor by Yachiru Kusajishi.

Aikou Ukitake	Aikou appeared outside the Ugendo on the walkway seemingly from nowhere and collapsed against the railing as a terrible cough racked his body. The use of his bankai had aggravated his illness and along with the sudden drain of his spiritual energy it left him considerably weakened. The Ugendo had once been Jushiro's personal quarters when he had been captain of the 13th division and since then had stayed within his family passing all the way down to Aikou. Aikou was very similar to his ancestor from his shikai to his white hair even to his sickness. Some had even referred to him as the reincarnation of Jushiro. He wasn't but it just goes to show how much he resembled the man. "Enzeru, Can you spare some energy?" He asked his voice weaker then it was normally. The ghostly embodiment of his zanpakuto appeared before him and shook his head solemnly. "Overdid it again, didn't you?" He said as he placed his hand upon Aikou's forehead and lent him his strength. "Maybe.." He said chuckling as he used the borrowed energy to make his way down the walk way and into the Ugendo and collapse in his bed. "Thank you, my friend." He said smiling apologetically at having to borrow his energy. "Anytime, Ukitake." Enzeru replied gently as Aikou drifted off to sleep.

Aikou Ukitake	Aikou woke up several hours later well rested and feeling much better. He rolled out of bed and stretched a bit before opening a rift leading to Urahara's shop. If he needed to find answers about his other personality that would be the place to look.
